Fraternity & Sorority Life at UTRGV offers students the chance to build meaningful friendships, grow as leaders, and contribute to a values-driven community rooted in service, scholarship, and pride.

Whether you’re new to campus or looking for a deeper connection, FSL provides a welcoming space where you can belong, be supported, and make a lasting impact.

What is FSL

Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) refers to student organizations—known as fraternities and sororities—that are grounded in shared values like leadership, service, academic success, and lifelong friendship. These organizations offer members opportunities for personal growth, campus involvement, and meaningful contributions to the UTRGV and Rio Grande Valley communities.

Why Join?

Joining a fraternity or sorority is about more than letters or tradition—it’s about finding your people and being part of something bigger.

  • Connect: Make lifelong friendships and join a network of supportive peers
  • Lead: Take on leadership roles in your chapter and on campus
  • Serve: Support local causes and give back through service and philanthropy
  • Grow: Thrive academically with peer support and a community that encourages success

Our Community

UTRGV is home to 8 active fraternities and sororities, organized into three governing councils:

  • Interfraternity Council (IFC) – Traditionally male fraternities
  • College Panhellenic Council (CPC) – Traditionally female sororities
  • Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) – Culturally based and multicultural organizations, including co-ed chapters

All of our councils work together to create a welcoming and inclusive FSL community rooted in unity, pride, and Vaquero spirit.
