Touchdown for Good is a Homecoming service initiative to spread Vaquero spirit through service. The first ever Touchdown for Good consisted of a campus-wide canned food drive competition benefiting the UTRGV Student Food Pantry. This initiative brings students, Vaqueros Clubs, and departments together to address student food insecurity.
In 2025, 16 Vaqueros Clubs and 13 Departments participated in the competition to raise a total of 2351 pounds worth of food.
ENACTUS made history by becoming the first ever winner of Touchdown for Good. The Vaqueros Clubs was able to collect 408.75 lbs of food for the UTRGV Food Pantry.
Vaquero Squad was the first ever department winner of Touchdown for Good. Their department raised 290.5 pounds of food for the UTRGV Food Pantry.
