At UTRGV, student success is a shared journey. Our Family Involvement program invites parents, guardians, and all loved ones to stay connected and engaged with their Vaquero —from the first day of class to graduation day.
We provide opportunities for families to build UTRGV pride by being a part of the university experience through events, communication, and resources that celebrate connection, support, and community.
Hosted in collaboration with campus partners, these sessions offer helpful information about UTRGV resources, academic support programs, and how families can actively support student success.
Spend the day on campus with your student enjoying activities, giveaways, and opportunities to connect with other Vaquero families. Family Day is all about fun, pride, and making memories that last.

Our annual essay contest gives students the opportunity to honor the people who have supported them most. It’s a celebration of the love, commitment, and care that family members—however defined—bring to the UTRGV journey.
