Family Medicine Residency - McAllen

A Message from the Program Director

Thank you for your interest in the McAllen Family Medicine Residency Program. Our mission is to teach residents to provide evidence-based primary care to patients of all ages in south Texas—with an emphasis on care for women who are pregnant, children, and older adults—through an appropriate blend of supervised patient care experiences, clinical teaching, and didactic activities. Our residents work directly with attending physicians in all the specialties, including emergency medicine, critical care, surgery, and radiology. Residents staff a very active inpatient family medicine service, allowing them to develop the skills and confidence to care for acutely ill patients of all ages. Several of our faculty physicians are very experienced in surgical obstetrics, affording residents with abundant opportunities to learn advanced obstetrical care and surgical technique. If you want a full-spectrum family medicine experience, please consider the McAllen Family Medicine Residency Program.

Please do not hesitate to contact us for more information about our program and thank you for visiting our website!
