Resident Leadership Council

The charge of the RLC is to empower residents to lead the charge in identifying and addressing issues and concerns related to their learning and working environment. Concerns may include examples such as access to appropriate educational resources, access to mental health and other wellbeing-related services, and security/safety issues. This council also enables residents to address peer concerns in a confidential and protected manner. Finally, the RLC is charged with organizing events to address well-being and camaraderie among residents in different programs from across the Rio Grande Valley. Drawing from the above, the RLC provides updates to, makes recommendations to, and actively participates in the GMEC on a monthly basis on behalf of all UTRGV residents.
