Celebrating 50K UTRGV Graduates!

December 14, 2023

Dear UTRGV Family,

Each semester, I have the incredible honor and privilege of congratulating our latest class of graduates during our Commencement exercises. This celebration of academic achievement is a tradition for our university and, most notably, a major milestone for the students who cross the stage.

While Commencement is undoubtedly a time to reflect on individual success, it is also a chance to look back on how we reached this point. The latter is especially true this semester for the Class of 2023 and our entire university community as the 50,000th UTRGV graduate earns a diploma.

Surpassing this mark is an enormous accomplishment for our institution and a testament to our mission of service, innovation, and access. To our remarkable students, faculty, and staff, I extend my heartfelt gratitude. Your unwavering commitment has gotten us here and positioned us for greater success in the future.

As our UTRGV family grows, let us not lose sight of the goals and values that have guided us since our opening in 2015. Together, we have the power to shape lives here, across Texas, and around the world.
Here's to the Class of 2023 and to all UTRGV grads — past, present, and future!

V's Up!

Guy Bailey
President
