Dear Colleagues:
As all of you know, Rick Anderson will be leaving to join the Medical College of South Carolina on October 15. As indicated in an email on Sept. 17, we will not directly fill the executive vice president position, in large part because of the excellent hiring Rick has done. Rather, the duties associated with that role will be handled through the enhancement of responsibilities for two of his direct reports and the redistribution of some responsibilities among other leadership team members.
Effective immediately, the offices and departments listed below will now fall under the oversight of the following three divisional senior vice presidents. These vice presidents will maintain their current responsibilities as well.

- Campus Facilities Operations
- Dr. Magdalena Hinojosa, senior vice president for Strategic Enrollment and Student Affairs (org chart)
- Residence Life
- Student Union
- University Recreation
This redistribution of duties will allow us to continue to serve both the university and the larger Rio Grande Valley community quite effectively while introducing some additional efficiencies. Please join me in supporting these leaders as they take on these new responsibilities.
