Appointment of the Chief Audit Executive

Michael Peppers, Chief Audit Executive for The University of Texas System, and I are pleased to announce the appointment of Eloy R. Alaniz, Jr. as Institutional Chief Audit Executive for UTRGV.
Eloy has served as the Chief Audit Executive at UTPA since 2008 and brings to the position more than 20 years of experience in accounting and auditing. He is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, and Certified Information Systems Auditor.
Joining Eloy in the Office of Audits and Consulting Services is Norma Ramos, Audit Director; Isabel Benavides, Assistant Audit Director; Cecilia Sanchez, Senior Auditor II; Lilia St. Clair, Senior Auditor II; Joe Gomez, Senior IT Auditor I; Khalil Abdullah, Senior Auditor I and Patricia Cruthirds, Senior Administrative Associate.
The Office of Audits and Consulting Services provides UTRGV with independent, objective assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve university operations. The department helps the institution accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.
