Employee Survey: 2025 Great Colleges to Work ForĀ®
Dear Faculty and Staff,
UTRGV is once again participating in the Great Colleges to Work For® program, a national survey designed to recognize institutions that have made great workplaces. Last year was the first time we participated in the program, and thanks to you, UTRGV earned the first of what we believe will be many honors from this prestigious annual survey.
While we are proud to earn this distinction in our first attempt, we know that being a “great college to work for” takes more than just scoring well on a survey. The data we receive from this effort will provide insights and help direct our campus climate initiatives, continuing the process of making UTRGV the best workplace possible.
All employees are once again encouraged to view data and learn more about how UTRGV performed in the 2024 Great Colleges to Work For® survey.
How will I know if I am selected?
Starting Saturday, March 1, the survey will be distributed to a random selection of 600 full-time UTRGV employees, including the School of Medicine. If you are included in this random sample, you will receive an invitation with details about the program and how to access the survey. This invitation will be sent to you via email from “Great Colleges”. Be sure to check the Spam/Junk folders in your UTRGV email account.
Why should I participate?
While surveys are great tools, they are only useful if we get a significant response rate and then do something with the data. Last year, our response rate (33.5%) was high enough to qualify for the designation, but lower than we hoped for overall. As is the case with all surveys, UTRGV is committed to addressing the areas of opportunity we will uncover this time around and celebrate our accomplishments together. If you receive the invitation, please take a few minutes to complete the survey. After all, you will be representing not only yourself, but also your colleagues. This is another chance to make your voice heard, and a high response rate helps ensure an accurate representation of our employee community.
At the program’s close, we will receive — and share — topline reports (as we did in 2024) that summarize the organizational competencies and relationships that most directly impact and influence our culture. Please know that this survey is voluntary and completely confidential. UTRGV will not be able to trace results back to any individuals participating in the survey.
How do I submit my survey?
If randomly selected, your invitation to take the survey will come by email with the subject line “Great Colleges to Work For 2025 Faculty/Staff Survey” in the first week of March. Those who are randomly selected to access the survey will utilize the same usernames; however, everyone will have unique passwords. For this reason, you should not forward your survey to any colleagues. Surveys will once again be administered and processed by ModernThink, an independent management consulting firm focusing on workplace quality in higher education that designed the survey program.
Can I share feedback if I am not selected for the survey?
Yes! All employees are invited to share feedback with their respective supervisors.
This is yet another incredible opportunity to share your honest feedback about working at UTRGV. We hope that everyone who gets invited to the survey will take advantage of this chance to elevate our institution even further.
