Appointment of Vice President of Human Resources and Regulatory Affairs

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce that Samantha Allen has been appointed as Vice President of Human Resources and Regulatory Affairs (VPHR), effective February 1. In this role, Samantha will provide strategic leadership for our HR and talent development efforts, ensuring that UTRGV continues to foster a strong and supportive workplace for all employees.

Samantha has been a valued member of the UTRGV leadership team since 2021, previously serving as Chief Compliance Officer and, most recently, as Chief of Staff. She brings extensive experience in human resources, having served in a chief HR capacity before, and is well-prepared to build on the excellent work of our HR department. Please note that her former Chief of Staff position will not be filled.

Before joining UTRGV, Samantha worked at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas for 16 years, where she held several leadership positions, including Associate Vice President of Pediatric and Adolescent Programs, Director of the Office of Health System Affairs, and university attorney.

Samantha earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Baylor University and a law degree from the Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University.

Please join me in congratulating Samantha on her new role.

Sincerely,

Guy Bailey

President
