Our Vision
Driving at UTRGV is more than a job. Drivers are key partners in fulfilling UTRGV's Vision : they provide safe, efficient, sustainable, and reliable access to important resources, enhance mobility, and effectively manage travel demand.
Our Drivers
UTRGV drivers transport students, faculty, staff, and the general public within the campuses of Brownsville and Edinburg ( VOLT ). The Vaquero Express provides service between campuses including Harlingen and Weslaco. Drivers are focused on providing safe and friendly, customer-centered service. They are highly skilled professionals with a positive & helpful approach.
Engaging With UTRGV
While our drivers provide the best service, they also engage with the UTRGV community by participating in our Haunted Bus events during Halloween, Holiday parades for various cities, and provide special trips for departments. Drivers participate in our annual Roadeo, which is an opportunity to showcase their driving skills during a friendly obstacle course competition. Driver Appreciation Day is a great way for passengers to send a few kind words about our drivers. We offer trainings to improve upon and gain skills.
