Tips for Online Learning Success
- Stay current
Log in to your course regularly and review announcements, due dates, and new content. Online courses move quickly, and staying current helps you avoid falling behind.
- Stay engaged and communicate
Successful online learners actively participate in discussions, complete interactive activities, and communicate with their instructors when they have questions or need clarification. Don’t hesitate to reach out early if you need support.
- Use resources available to you
Take advantage of tutoring services, academic support centers, the Brightspace Help Desk, and other institutional resources. Your instructor may also provide additional learning materials, study guides, or practice tools within your course.
- Prepare your workspace
Create a dedicated, distraction-free study space with reliable internet access and updated technology. Make sure your browser is compatible with Brightspace and that you have access to required software.
-
Submit course work in a timely-manner
Pay close attention to deadlines and submit assignments, quizzes, and discussions on time. Late submissions may impact your grade and can create unnecessary stress.
- Allow time for technical problems
Technology does not always work as expected. Avoid waiting until the last minute to submit assignments. Give yourself extra time in case you experience login issues, upload errors, or internet disruptions.
