What Is National Distance Learning Week?
National Distance Learning Week (NDLW) is an annual celebration held each November to recognize the impact and innovation of distance education. The week highlights the transformative power of online learning, instructional technology, and digital pedagogy in expanding access to education.
NDLW is coordinated nationally by the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA), bringing together institutions, educators, instructional designers, and technology professionals from across the country.
How COLTT Participates
Each fall, the Center for Online Learning and Teaching Technology (COLTT) at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley participates in National Distance Learning Week by offering:
- Curated webinar sessions from national organizations
- Faculty and staff presentations highlighting innovative practices
- Sessions on instructional technology tools and emerging strategies
- Practical workshops focused on online teaching excellence
- Opportunities to explore accessibility, engagement, and quality standards
