Why UTRGV?
I chose to attend UTRGV because it is close to home, and I love that we get the opportunity to make a difference locally.

What made you decide on your current major?
My current major is all about life in motion and I have always loved staying active. I chose my current major because, not only do I love learning about our body, but I love that it will get me a step closer to graduate school.

What do you hope to achieve beyond completion of your major?
My goal is to attend Occupational Therapy school beyond completion of my major.

What do you like most about UTRGV?
What I like the most about UTRGV is that it is a small community where we get to meet out professors and make a connection with many people along our undergraduate experience.

What does being a Vaquero mean to you?
To me being a Vaquero means staying close to your culture and roots.

What opportunities has UTRGV helped you find throughout your community?
Thanks to UTRGV I have gained a lot of volunteering experience in my community. I was able to volunteer in events around my community including volunteering in Special Olympics, DHR and other sites. I had the opportunity to do a lot of research with my professors and was published on NSCA on one research project. I am forever thankful to UTRGV for giving me these opportunities.

What are a few of your favorite books?
My favorite book is “The Notebook” because of the great story Nicholas Sparks can make you imagine. My second favorite book has to be “Becoming” by Michelle Obama where she describes her childhood and how she came to be the women she is now.

What’s in your playlist right now?
In my playlist right now I have a lot of diversity. I listen to a lot of Pearl Jam, Everclear and Red Hot Chili Peppers, but there is also a lot of Lana Del Rey, HAIM and Arianna Grande. It depends on the mood I am in.
