Why UTRGV?
I chose this university because I like being part of a large group and diverse student body. UTRGV has the most competitive and updated degree plans. In addition to that, UTRGV has a series of extracurricular activities that allow you to develop yourself in an integral way, (intellectual, physical, cultural). The world is a big place; UTRGV and the parallels between the two would better help prepare me for post-college life in the real world.

What made you decide on your current major?
I have had a mystic attraction to computers ever since I was a child. I had no idea what computers actually did, or how they worked, but I jumped on every chance I could to get near them. I was impressed by the impact computers have on the improvement of a country, because technology can help a nation grow culturally, economically, religiously, and streamline its processes, helping facilitate relations with other countries.

What are your plans after graduation?
My plans are to continue learning and to study a master's degree that will allow me to specialize in certain fields of computer science. I have always believed that you must be the best in what you do, as well as put into practice the knowledge learned during my university career.

What are you involved in on and off campus?
Currently, I am working in the department of University Marketing and Communications as a web developer student assistant. Working with excellent people motivates me and gives me the opportunity to continue giving the best of me in all the work I do.

What is your biggest accomplishment to date?
Academically speaking, my biggest accomplishment to date is being on the President’s List twice and once on the Dean’s List. Also, Graduating in three years from UTRGV. Personally speaking, studying abroad; leaving my family to become a better student and achieve my dream. I will pursue my dream no matter what.

What advice do you have for future students?
I believe in the power of positive thinking, when a person is positive nothing will become impossible. Always believe in yourself, be positive and take advantage of all the opportunities UTRGV gives to the students.
