UTRGV Traveling Student Survey

With its distributed campus, UTRGV provides educational opportunities to students across the Rio Grande Valley  The UTRGV Traveling Student Survey was designed by College of Liberal Arts Dean Walter Diaz, Associate Dean for Assessment Dr. Steven Wilson, Dr. Laryssa Mykyta and staff at the UTRGV Center for Survey Research & Policy Analysis to assess: (1) students' commuting experiences between the Edinburg and Brownsville campuses; and (2) how commuting between campuses impacts students' academic and campus engagement.

The survey combined a web-based survey distributed to students who took classes on both campuses in Fall 2017, with phone follow-up by trained student interviewers, yielding a 52% response rate after one week of followup.  The survey results will inform policies to improve cost efficiency, student satisfaction and student success.
