Vehicle Information
Facilities Planning & Operations is in charge of all University-owned vehicles in terms of maintenance and compliance with safety standards as set by the Texas Office of Vehicle Fleet Management. The Edinburg campus also provides fleet reservations for faculty and staff on University business.

Vehicle Reservation
Facilities Planning & Operations (Edinburg only) provides the service of vehicle reservation for use by University faculty and staff for approved trips. The department reserving the vehicle is in charge of account information for billing and fuel purposes. The driver(s) of the vehicle must be authorized to drive by the University.
Reserve a vehicle
Facilities-Edinburg currently has the following vehicles available to reserve for local valley trips (Brownsville, Harlingen, Rio Grande City)
- 2010 Dodge Caravan
- 2007 Toyota Camry
- 2004 Ford Crown Victoria
1. Please fill out the Vehicle Reservation Form
2. Submit the completed form to Amy Nicolls via campus mail EASFC 117 or email amy.nicolls@utrgv.edu
3. You will receive a confirmation email with instructions to pick up the Vehicle Reservation packet, which contains keys, fuel card and insurance information
4. After the trip, return the vehicle (with a full tank of gas) to Facilities and the packet with all fuel receipts inside.
Drivers’ Authorization & Training
To become an authorized driver of University vehicles, you must complete the process as follows:

Vehicle Maintenance
All University owned vehicles must comply with safety and maintenance standards as set by the Texas Office of Vehicle Fleet Management. Facilities enforces this through a preventive maintenance schedule using our in-house software.
Campus Facilities Operations in Edinburg provides vehicle maintenance for departmental vehicles. If a vehicle is scheduled for maintenance, vehicle is to be dropped off in the Vehicle Shop located in the rear of the Edinburg Academic Support Facility building (next to the Police Department). If you are experiencing problems with your University vehicle, please call Lorenzo Guzman at 956-665-2912 for assistance.
Campus Facilities Operations in Brownsville provide assistance with outsourcing for repair cost. For questions regarding vehicles on the Brownsville campus, please call Ricardo Garza at 956-882-5961.
IMPORTANT: All University departments with vehicles must also maintain the vehicle's mileage report, which is to be turned in to Facilities at EASFC 124 by the 5th of each month. (If the 5th of the month lands in a weekend, the vehicle's mileage report is to be turned in the following work day)
