JumpStart
JumpStart offers new freshmen an exceptional academic and social experience that introduces them into UTRGV’s tradition of student academic success. You are immersed in a supportive five week academic program designed to aid you towards meeting Texas’s College Readiness standards while enhancing your ability to access and leverage the vast resources and opportunities available within the University of the Valley! JumpStart allows you to build a comprehensive academic network of support with recognized faculty, supportive peer mentors, engaged academic advisors, and knowledgeable tutors to create a unique learning experience centered on you. Additionally, we will register for the corresponding course during the fall semester to maximize your JumpStart knowledge.
Who are JumpStart Scholars?
JumpStart Scholars are newly admitted UTRGV freshmen who have met institutional admission requirements and are working towards meeting Texas’ College Readiness standards. Based on your previous TSI test scores, JumpStart scholars are required to join us for a five-week summer experience!
