It is with great pleasure that I extend to you a warm welcome to our UTRGV Internal Medicine Residency Program here in the beautiful Rio Grande Valley. On behalf of the entire faculty and staff, I want to express our excitement and enthusiasm for the possibility of you joining our program. The Rio Grande Valley is located at the southernmost point of Texas. At the meeting point of Mexico and the United States, the four-county region called the Valley is one of the fastest growing areas of the United States. Our medical school, residency program, and residents are committed to resolving health disparities in our community.

I have been working with UTRGV Internal Medicine programs for nearly 5 years now and it has been a true honor to not only take care of patients in the Rio Grande Valley, but also train physicians who are giving back to this community and helping to close the gap in healthcare disparities in this medically underserved area.
