Director’s Welcome
Welcome to the UTRGV Family Medicine Residency Program.
Located in the Rio Grande Valley, our program offers residents the opportunity to train in a diverse and medically complex community where family physicians play an essential role in improving the health and well-being of the patients and families they serve. Our residents gain broad clinical experience while developing the knowledge, judgment, and confidence necessary to practice comprehensive, patient-centered family medicine. Our mission is to prepare compassionate, skilled, and well-rounded family physicians who are equipped to provide exceptional care to patients across all stages of life.
>We believe residency training extends beyond developing clinical expertise. Our goal is to foster an environment in which residents are supported as physicians, colleagues, and future leaders. Through close faculty mentorship, hands-on learning, and meaningful involvement in the community, residents are encouraged to grow professionally while discovering their individual interests and strengths within Family Medicine.
