To ensure a smooth and successful experience with Brightspace and other supported technologies at UTRGV, students must meet certain technical requirements. This page outlines the necessary hardware, software, and internet specifications.

Pop-up Blocker: It is recommended to disable your pop-up blocker for the Brightspace domain.
Additional specifications for computers:
- A computer less than 3 years old.
- Processor: 2 GHz or faster.
- Memory: 4 GB of RAM or higher.
- Monitor Resolution: 1024 x 768 or higher.
- Free Hard Disk Space: 20 GB or more.
- Internet Connection: High-speed internet connection (cable modem, LAN, or DSL).

Ally provides options to download any item of course content in different formats, depending on the original document. Students may select the format that best meets their needs. Alternative formats include:

Student Confidentiality (FERPA)
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)is a Federal law that protects the privacy of student education records whereby parents or eligible students have the right to inspect and review the student's education records, and the right to request that a school correct records, and that schools must have written permission from the parent or eligible student in order to release any information from a student's education record.
