Other Workshops


The Center for Online Learning & Teaching Technology (COLTT) will be offering various workshops every Fall and Spring Semester that include stipends upon successful completion of the required deliverables. To be eligible, you must be a UTRGV faculty member and you must have completed the Applying the Quality Matters Rubric Workshop.

Our workshops are taught in a Hybrid format where online content is presented using Blackboard and mandatory live sessions are scheduled to provide opportunities for:

  • Deeper conversations addressing key topics,
  • Guest speakers,
  • Q&A sessions,
  • Hands-on practice

Teaching Large Online Workshop

This workshop will qualify faculty teaching large online courses to receive a coach. The role of the coach is to help faculty grade and communicate with students.

What is considered large online course?
- Minimum Max Enrollment capacity set to 75 and
- Actual Student Enrollment is at least 60 students per section.

Duration: 7 Modules, 8 Weeks Long

Hybrid Academy

This workshop will provide participants with the knowledge, skills, and exposure to resources necessary to design, develop, and facilitate Hybrid instruction (01R or online lecture/live lab courses) that conforms to national standardized best practices, current research, and instructional design principles.

Blueprinting Sessions

One of the goals of our Executive Vice President is for UTRGV to offer an online component of all Undergraduate General Education Core courses. This workshop is intended to transition general education core courses not currently taught fully online to go through our Quality Assurance Blueprinting Process. Courses developed through this process will be considered Master courses for faculty within the department to use when teaching the developed course online.
