- Student Health Services Clinic has the purpose to meet students’ health care needs, so that they can focus and achieve their academic goals. Office visits are free of charge and they provide the same types of services as a family doctor and much more. Their services are confidential and at low costs to students in both the Edinburg and Brownsville campuses. - The UTRGV Counseling Center provides free and confidential counseling services for UTRGV students to address mental health concerns and seeks to promote personal growth and well-being among our campus community through education and outreach activities.
- The Office of Title IX and Equal Opportunity promotes UTRGV's commitment to provide a diverse and inclusive learning and working environment that is free of discrimination, sexual harassment, and retaliation. OTIXEO investigates and responds to internal and external complaints of discrimination, sexual harassment, and retaliation and coordinates and administers the University’s Title IX response and compliance requirements. - UTRGV Police Department protects and serves the campus community of students, faculty, staff and visitors throughout the Rio Grande Valley Region by providing professional law enforcement services and actively promoting community involvement through progressive community policing partnership strategies and a commitment to education. The department is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In the event of an emergency, please call 956-882-4911. For non-emergencies, you can call 956-665-7151.
- Student Food Pantry assists students in need at UTRGV by providing food supplements to those who have been impacted by financial problems/conditions and subsequently are experiencing difficulty meeting their basic need of adequate nutrition. - Campus Residential Life seeks to provide a safe and affordable residential community experience for students that supports and enhances mutual respect, student learning, personal growth and academic achievement.
- The Academic Advising Center is here to serve and believe in you. As an admitted undergraduate student, you will partner with us to build your overall understanding of UTRGV and learn how to be successful at the University of the 21st Century. Along the way, you'll work with us to discover new academic adventures and craft an educational experience unique to you by discussing educational plans and making appropriate course selections.
- The Peer Mentor Program provide encouragement and support to the students that take part of the mentoring programs at the university. Through the mentoring program, students make academic and social connections that help them acquire skills to be successful.
- The Collegiate Recovery Program (CRP) is part of a national effort to meet the needs of students in recovery from alcohol, drugs, and other addictions. They provide an environment on campus in which students seeking and wanting to sustain recovery can flourish and learn affirmative methods to better manage the challenges of their recovery journey.
- National Sexual Assault Hotline is a safe, confidential service. You can chat with an online staff member through their website or you can access the hotline by calling 1-800-656-4673(HOPE).
- National Domestic Violence Hotline operates around the clock, seven days a week. Confidential and free of cost, the National Domestic Violence Hotline provides lifesaving tools and immediate support to enable victims to find safety and live lives free of abuse. The hotline can be accessed by calling 1-800-799-7233(SAFE).
- Mujeres Unidas has been providing emergency shelter and services to families who are fleeing from domestic violence in their homes for more than 30 years.
- Friendship of Women’s mission is to provide leadership, support on family violence and sexual assault issues and a safe place for victims and their families.
Any student can become a victim of power-based violence. Unfortunately, members of some of our campus communities are more vulnerable to power-based violence. Below is a list of these communities (please note that this is not an exhaustive list, but rather a starting point for helping students understand that everyone deserves support, and OAVP is here to help):
