Military Veterans

Student Veterans, nationally, have a lower percentage of students pursuing a higher education after high school. Around four percent of veterans are undergraduates. Of this percentage, 44% are in bachelor’s degree programs and 54% are in associate degree or certificate programs. Around 90% of Student Veterans take most of their classes online instead of the traditional school setting.1 Student Veterans have a higher tendency of being in college after the age of 23.2

UTRGV Student Veterans have multiple resources to assist them in responding to incidents of power-based violence. The Office of Advocacy & Violence Prevention offers FREE AND CONFIDENTIAL support services to Student Veterans. In addition, Student Veterans may access the following resources:

Our goal is to ensure that every student veteran successfully transitions into college life, remains successful all the way up to graduation, and then successfully finds employment. For more information, visit the main SVA website.

We work with both VHA and community programs, linking you to resources and services in support of your treatment goals.
