Forensic Exams

A medical forensic exam is a comprehensive exam conducted to assess and treat someone who has experienced abuse or assault. This exam is conducted by a clinician with specialized training in caring for victims of violence aimed to address their physical, emotional, and safety needs. During this exam, evidence that could be used in legal proceedings may be collected should you choose to report the crime. However, you do not have to report the crime to have an exam, but the process allows you to store evidence safely should you decide to report at a later time.
