Heritage Hall, located conveniently on campus, accommodates 192 total students.  Heritage & Troxel is a coeducational traditional-style residence hall with community space in each suite.

Room Furnishings

Each of our traditional Residence Halls is designed in suite-style, defined as two rooms sharing a bathroom (four people max).  All rooms are furnished for double occupancy. These rooms may be reserved as private rooms as space permits.

Single rooms in our Residence Halls will not be assigned until we have determined our housing needs, so please select a double room as one of your preferences.  All single room requests will be placed on a waiting list and we will notify students if a single room is available. 

Residents are responsible for providing their own bed linens, blankets, towels, and toiletries.

Room contents include – fixed furniture in each room

• XL Single beds, built-in desks, and task chairs
• Chests of drawers & built-in closets
• WiFi Internet access throughout the hall
• Heating, air-conditioning, all utilities, Internet access, cable are included in the room and board package

Room Dimensions: approx. 15’ x 12’

* No pets allowed except service animals
* Smoke-Free facility (including e-cigarettes)

For convenience, the following services are provided

• Card swipe access and 24 hour Front Desk assistance
• Mailbox and parcel area
• Free Laundry facilities – located on the 3^rd floor
• Equipped with a small living area on each floor
• Study area, TV/Game lounges
• Snack and soft drink vending
• Community kitchenette area with microwave in building lobby (personal microwaves are not allowed in Heritage & Troxel Hall)
• Recreation rooms (billiards, ping pong, game tables)

Unity Hall, our newest residence hall, accommodates 396 male and female students in double occupancy rooms. Unity Hall is a coeducational traditional style residence hall with gender-specific towers.

The Village is our on-campus apartment complex that can house over 200 residents, conveniently located next door to state-of-the-art Wellness Recreational Sports Complex. The Village Apartment offers three different options within our apartment community with a full kitchen and are furnished in the bedroom and living areas.

The Village offers three types of apartments: All bedrooms are private

1 bedroom/1 bath
2 bedroom/1 bath
4 bedroom/2 bath

The Village Apartment Eligibility

Student housing at The Village Apartments are available for enrolled UTRGV students, faculty, and staff.   

 
Priority on room assignments are given to students based on the following criteria.   
 

• Students with a current lease at UTRGV (Returners) or;
• At least 19 years on the first day of classes of the initial semester of enrollment or;
• Students in a UTRGV Cohort or participating in a Living Learning Community or;
• Students who apply by March 1 annually or;
• Students with good academic standing, minimum 2.0 GPA
   

Individuals seeking housing accommodations at The Village must sign a contract through Housing Portal. 

Apartment/Room Furnishings:

All bedrooms are private.

• Chests of drawers & built-in closets
• WiFi Internet access through EDU Roam
• Furnished living room with sofa, lounge chair, multi-use cube/end table
• Private washer and dryer
• Heating, air-conditioning, all utilities, and Internet access through EDU Roam  are included

Room Dimensions: approx. 12 ½ x 8 ½

* No pets allowed except service animals/emotional support animals with advanced notice and approval
* Smoke-Free facility (including e-cigarettes)

 Family Housing

• Limited housing is available to students, faculty, and staff on campus.
• Married Couples or Families with children may only reside at the Village Apartments in Edinburg, Texas, or Casa Bella Apartments in Brownsville, Texas.
• Rooms are not set aside for family housing and may be reserved based on availability.

Please speak to our staff in person to verify availability before submitting a completed application for on-campus housing.

Casa Bella Apartments Floor Plan

Casa Bella apartments were constructed in 2009, it is a 103-unit, 429-bed student apartment complex at our UTRGV Brownsville campus. The new facility was designed for student housing, with a variety of amenities, such as full kitchens, washers and dryers, living rooms and all of the electrical and wireless needs desired by college students today.

Casa Bella offers two different types of apartments: (Each bedroom has its own bathroom)

Double Room: Share the bedroom with another person
Single Room: Private bedroom with bathroom.

Housing at Casa Bella is available for enrolled UTRGV students and current faculty and staff.

Apartment/Room Furnishings:

All bedrooms are private.

• Double Room: XL twin beds, desk and task chairs
• Drawers in each bedroom
• WiFi Internet access throughout the apartment
• Furnished living room with a sofa chair, long sofa, coffee table and end table
• Private washer and dryer
• Heating, air-conditioning, all utilities, Internet access, cables are included in the room and board package.

Room Dimensions: approx. 12 ½ x 8 ½

* No pets allowed except service animals
* Smoke-Free facility (including e-cigarettes)

For convenience, the following services are provided

• Snack and soft-drink vending
• Swimming pool
• Sand volleyball and basketball courts
• Club house with a movie theater
• Large multipurpose room

Family Housing

• Limited housing is available to students, faculty and staff on campus. 
• Married Couples or Families with children may only reside at the Village Apartments in Edinburg, Texas or Casa Bella Apartments in Brownsville, Texas.
• Rooms are not set aside for family housing and may be reserved based on availability.
