The College of Fine Arts at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) is committed to enriching every student’s academic journey by providing an array of valuable resources. This guide is designed to empower student success at UTRGV. From scholarships and ensemble policies to campus tours and essential student services, learn more about the tools available below.  

Scholarship Opportunities

The College of Fine Arts will support students who are experiencing financial hardships or family emergencies. The goal of the scholarship is to assist students with unexpected financial need that may cause them to withdraw from school. $500-1,000 scholarship. 
 
Students can apply any time but must have exhausted other avenues of financial support including the Student Emergency Fund.The application requires a letter of endorsement from a faculty mentor and an unofficial transcript.

The College Leadership Council evaluates all applications at their monthly meeting. For consideration, please submit your application by the monthly deadlines below: 
 
Friday, January 10th, 2025 
Friday, February 14th, 2025 
Friday, March 7th, 2025 
Friday, April 18th, 2025

The College of Fine Arts will support students who engage in travel, study abroad, and research and creative activity.  Awards will be recognized at the College of Fine Arts Awards Reception with invitations to members of the college and supporters and stakeholders internal and external to UTRGV. Funding will come from college funding but there is an opportunity for College of Fine Arts supporters to name awards in their honor/memory through an endowed gift. 

  • Global Citizenship Scholarships support students participating in study abroad programs. 
  • Student Research Travel Scholarships support students who want to attend conferences or other professional venues to present their research and creative activities. 
  • Undergraduate and Graduate Research Grants support students in conducting projects in collaboration or under the mentorship of faculty members from the college.
