Third and Fourth Year Student Athlete Guide
For today’s student-athletes, training and conditioning is a year-round commitment. Balancing the rigors of competing at the collegiate level with the demands of the classroom is one of the greatest challenges our student-athletes face. That is why it is so essential that the department of intercollegiate athletics provides our student-athletes with access to hands-on academic support. Con ganas and with the support of your academic advisor, you’ll be on your way to graduation!
Together, we will...
- Provide personalized and degree applicable academic advising.
- Monitor academic progress rate to determine NCAA eligibility.
- Guide students to make sound decisions and become self-directed learners.
- Refer students to university resources.

Keep In Mind
- TSI. If you are working towards Texas College Readiness Standards, you are required to attend a TSI Workshop during the current term.
- Dropping A Course. Dropping a course is often not recommended in an effort to keep your NCAA Eligibility; however, if interested in dropping a course, the request must be approved by the associate director of athletics.
- Change of Major. Changing majors? If so, change of major request must be approved by the associate director of athletics.
- UA Hold. A UA hold has been place on your academic record. The UA hold prevents the adding and dropping of course work in the current term. Only a student-athlete advisor from the Victory Center can lift your UA hold.
