Research Integrity and Export Compliance
The Research Integrity and Export Compliance unit provides oversight and assistance with matters relating to research integrity, conflicts of interest, and export control. Research Integrity encompasses all matters involving plagiarism or the falsification/fabrication of data in proposing, performing, or reviewing research, or in reporting research results. Conflicts of Interest involve any relationship with an outside entity if that relationship causes or appears to cause bias in the design, conduct, or reporting or research. Export Compliance provides guidance and support for all matters involving the export of data/technologies to foreign countries and the exposure and/or release of such data/technologies to foreign individuals in the U.S. (deemed exports).
What We Do
- Guidance on matters involving plagiarism, falsification and fabrication of data.
- Review and guidance for potential financial conflicts of interest in research.
- Development and monitoring of Conflicts of Interest Management Plans.
- Assistance with all export control matters, including data and material transfers, hiring of foreign nationals, development of technology control plans, foreign influence reviews, and foreign travel reviews.
- Training on responsible conduct in research and export compliance.
