Undergraduate Internships
Internships are highly encouraged and allow students to gain real-world experience while earning additional income and course credit. Undergraduate internships must be paid and involve at least 75 hours of work related to business analytics or information systems. Students taking internships can enroll in INFS 3300 Internship in Information Systems and Business Analytics to earn course credit toward the degree. Please contact the department office for more information and preapproval on INFS 3300.

Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) Internship Opportunities
Gaining hands-on experience is essential for enhancing your skills and preparing for a successful career in business analytics. The MSBA program encourages students to pursue internships as a valuable way to apply classroom knowledge to real-world challenges, helping to bridge the gap between theory and practice.
Pathways
Students have two pathways to secure an internship that can count as a 3-credit-hour elective course toward their degree:
- Through the University Career Center
The university’s Career Services Office offers resources to help you find an internship related to analytics. Career advisors can assist you in exploring opportunities, preparing applications, and securing internships that align with your career goals. - Independently Sourced Internships
Students are also welcome to independently seek out internships. Once an opportunity is found, you must reach out to the MSBA program director for approval. If the internship meets the program’s requirements, it can be counted as a 3-credit-hour elective course, enhancing your professional experience while earning academic credit.
How to Get Started
Whether you seek assistance from the Career Services Office or find an internship on your own, an internship provides practical experience, boosts your resume, and gives you a competitive edge in the analytics field. For any questions or to discuss internship approval, please contact the MSBA program director.
