ASOC - Accounting Society
University-level student organization established in June 2022 comprised of members from the UTRGV Vackar College of Business and Entrepreneurship. Accounting Society embraces the concept of connecting students with different industries fostering continuous and engaging partnerships.
Requirements to join Organization:
- Must be responsible and proactive
- Must be committed to community service

American Marketing Association – AMA
AMA is the world’s most comprehensive and largest professional society for marketers. By facilitating numerous networking opportunities, AMA connects students to local paid and non-paid internships with reputable businesses. AMA also focuses on conducting professional development workshops to prepare members for their future careers and inspire effective leadership skills.
BGS–Beta Gamma Sigma or The International Business Honor Society
Founded in 1913, Beta Gamma Sigma is the international business honor society for AACSB-accredited schools, which are the top 5% of business school programs around the world. Inducted as students, BGS members go on to serve in critical leadership roles in corporate, entrepreneurial, government, non-profit, and academic sectors.
Enactus – Enactus
Enactus aims to provide a lasting impact on our local community. The team at Enactus believes that servant leaders should strive to achieve sustainable economic growth by building strong partnerships. Sustainability, empowerment, and entrepreneurship are their core principles.
Association of Latino Professionals for America – ALPFA
ALPFA creates opportunities, adds value, and builds relationships for members, the community, and business partners to open doors and enhance leadership among minorities in the global workforce. ALPFA is the premier minority organization that promotes professional development in business-minded students.
Society for Human Resource Management – SHRM
SHRM provides essential and comprehensive resources for human resources (HR) management professionals. The society is committed to advancing the profession and the capabilities of all HR professionals. SHRM ensures that HR is an essential and effective partner in developing and executing organizational strategy.
Economics and Finance Society – EFS
EFS aims to promote the study of Economics and Finance within UTRGV’s student body. EFS offers advancement opportunities and a community for present and future members.
Institute of Management Accountants – IMA
IMA provides professional networking and internship opportunities to students within the accounting and finance departments. IMA’s vision is to be the leading resource for UTRGV students and developingdevelop the best accountants and financial professionals in business.
Internal Audit Student Association- IASA
Our organization is a bridge for students who're interested in pursuing a career in Internal Audit or Assurance within their professional career post-secondary education; our goal as a student organization is to get students informed about internships offered by big accounting firms and to get them the experience they need before working full-time. The best practices to follow, professional expectations within big accounting firms or in industry, and how to be the best version of themselves for the continuous evolving landscape of accounting.

International Business & Entrepreneurship Student Association - IBESA
Forging the next leaders of the RGV. IBESA is a prestigious student organization dedicated to personal and professional development through experiential learning. With our focus on the international business and entrepreneurship (IBE) industry we are dedicated to promoting economic development by creating pathways in the public and private sector for our IBE students to have the opportunity to graduate with job security or a successful business. One of our aims is to aid in the development of an entrepreneurial culture at UTRGV with the motive of boosting innovation in our region. We are committed to having an active presence and establishing a supportive community at our university, for like minded business students to prosper in.

Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization – CEO
Collegiate Entrepreneurs' Organization (CEO) is the premier entrepreneurship network with chapters in North America and a presence beyond university campuses. CEO informs, supports, and inspires new students to embrace an entrepreneurial mindset and engage in new ventures. They also participate in CEO’s Global Conference and Pitch Competition.
Hospitality and Tourism Management Student Organization – HOST
HOST aims to provide all UTRGV students with the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills in the hospitality and tourism industry. The organization helps its members develop a strong professional identity on campus and in the community. HOST also serves as a vehicle that will allowallowing students to connect with industry leaders.
Association for Information Technology Professionals – AITP
AITP is the leading global society of information technology business professionals. AITP also serves as a knowledgebase for current and future leaders. They strive to serve their members by delivering relevant training and leadership education, research, and information on current business and technology issues. They also provide forums for networking and collaboration.
Master of Business Administration Association – MBA-A
The organization's mission is to provide a stimulus platform that will provide its constituents with a long-term competitive edge as well as opportunities. The organization will ensure exposure and networking possibilities through participation in group events and individual initiatives. Professional development, business ethics, and social interaction among members will be promoted.
Beta Alpha Psi – BAP
BAP is a nonprofit international honor and service organization for accounting, finance, business analytics, and digital technology students. BAP provides opportunities for developing technical and professional skills to complement a university education. BAP also offers participation in community service and interaction among students, faculty, and professionals.
Brownsville Accounting Association – BAA
BAA promotes the study and practice of accounting and provides opportunities for personal development. The association also encourages social and professional networking of its affiliates, business professionals, faculty, and alumni. BAA also seeks to instill a sense of ethical, social, and public responsibilities among its constituents.
Vackar Investment Management Fund - VIMF
The Vackar Investment Management Fund is a student-run organization dedicated to preparing students for a future in finance. Our organization manages a portfolio of equities and government securities utilizing a combination of top-down macroeconomic analysis to shift weights, change sectors, and adapt for business cycles, as well as bottom-up fundamental analysis to select stocks for our portfolio. We hold long-short positions to reduce exposure to a long bias. We intend to preserve a portion of our holding in government securities to ensure consistent cash flows for the organization and guaranteed returns. Our real-world framework and research prepare students to enter the finance industry with a competitive advantage and practical experience.
