Graduate Assistantships
Duties: Teaching Assistants are typically assigned to assist and/or teach developmental mathematics each semester, for a total of no more than 20 hours per week. Salary: $12,500 per academic year (9 months).
Additional summer support might be available as well.
Eligibility: You must be accepted for graduate study at UTRGV by the University's Office of Admissions, be a Master's degree seeking student in the School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences, and be enrolled as a full-time student during each semester of the assistantship.

- A Cover Letter, addressed to the School Director or Graduate Program Coordinator, which states that your are applying for the position of Teaching Assistant in the School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences and why you believe you are qualified for this appointment.
- A Completed Application Form - application forms are available here in PDF format, or may be obtained by contacting the School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences>
- A Current Resume, including experience and qualifications related to the position you are applying for,
- Three Letters Of Recommendation
- Transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate work completed to date (unofficial copies are acceptable).

Applicants not offered a teaching assistantship may be placed on a waiting list in the event that additional assistantships become available.
