GRE/GMAT Test Fee Scholarship

The Award:

The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley’s Graduate College is pleased to announce the GRE/GMAT Test Fee Scholarship. The scholarship provides a total of $205.00 or $250.00, depending on the test taken for admission. Both domestic and international graduate students may qualify.

Eligibility:

  • Newly admitted graduate student (degree-seeking), in any discipline that requires a GRE or GMAT entrance exam.
  • Unconditionally admitted starting from Spring 2020 Module II and on.
  • Enroll in a minimum of 6 semester hours within the admitted semester.
  • Official GRE or GMAT test scores must be received by the UTRGV Graduate College no later than the graduate application deadline. Keep in mind that official test scores take approximately 10-15 business days after the exam has been taken, to be received by our office.

*Note: This scholarship may be combined with other Graduate College scholarships..

Deadline:

  • Accelerated Online Programs (7-week courses):
    • Spring 2020 Module II- February 28th
    • Summer 2020 Module I- April 24th
    • Summer 2020 Module II- June 19th
  • Traditional Programs (16-week courses):
    • Summer I 2020- May 15th
    • Summer II 2020- June 25th
    • Fall 2020- August 7th
    • Spring 2021- December 18th

Selection Process:

Applications will be evaluated by the Graduate College Scholarship Committee.

Additional Information:

The scholarship will be applied to your account by no later than the 12th class day and will be visible on ASSIST.

Frequently Asked Questions:

If I am admitted conditionally will I qualify for the GRE/GMAT Scholarship?
No, you must be admitted unconditionally in order to qualify.

Can the GRE/GMAT Test Fee Scholarship be combined with any other scholarship offered by the Graduate College?
Yes, this scholarship may be combined with other Graduate College scholarships.

How will the GRE/GMAT Test Fee Scholarship be distributed?
It will be applied directly to your tuition and fees, within your UTRGV account, no later than the 12th class day.

Can I be considered for the GRE/GMAT Test Fee Scholarship if I am applying into a Doctoral program?
Yes, as long as you are a newly admitted doctoral student and the GRE or GMAT exam was required for admission.

Can I apply for this scholarship each semester?
No, this is only a one-time scholarship awarded to newly admitted graduate students.
