Tuition and Fees

UTRGV’s Tuition and Fees are the 2nd lowest in the UT System and the 3rd lowest in the state of Texas for all public universities. Each year institutions are required to submit data to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board via the IFRS (Integrated Fiscal Reporting System) Report due in December. Data pertaining to tuition and fees is then compiled and published during the spring semester reflecting a comparison of amounts among other intuitions.

Tuition and Fee Proposal for Fall 2019 and Fall 2020

The UTRGV tuition and fee steering committee held forums at each campus regarding recommendations on fees for Fall 2019 and 2020. You can view the presentation and the members of the committee. Tuition and Mandatory Fees

Tuition and mandatory fees are the academic costs required of all students for general enrollment.  Included are fees charged to support the student union, recreation center, medical services, student services and university services. 

Rates are guaranteed to not increase for up to 4 years.  In addition, resident tuition and mandatory fees are capped at 12 semester credit hours.
