Interpreting Lab

Students in Translating lab

Our Interpreting Lab, located in MAIN 1.524 (Brownsville Campus) is equipped with the most advanced language, translation and interpreting technology.

We use the advanced capabilities of Sony Virtuoso for sight translation, consecutive and simultaneous interpreting practice, providing a realistic environment for professional interpreting.

The lab also offers access to SDL Trados Studio, the de facto international standard in the translation industry, for our students in translation technologies.

For years now, and sponsored by UTRGV’s Translation and Interpreting Programs, the Texas Association of Judiciary Interpreters and Translators (TAJIT) has held their continuing education sessions for State Certified Interpreters in South Texas.
