Programs
UNDERGRADUATE
UTRGV offers a full-fledged Bachelor of Arts program in Spanish Translation and Interpreting oriented towards the education of bilingual students with native or near-native command of both English and Spanish in the art and science of translation. The program is not designed for language acquisition, although students are guided through the improvement of their working languages to the highest professional standards. After a sequence of introductory courses in Spanish <> English general translation, students explore relevant specializations in T&I such as Legal Translation, Commercial Translation, Medical Interpreting and Terminology, Translation Technologies, Simultaneous and Consecutive Interpreting.

GRADUATE
UTRGV also offers the most comprehensive set of fully-online graduate courses and programs in Spanish Translation and Interpreting. With students located, literally, all over the world, our 100% online programs draw from several decades of accumulated experience by our faculty in online delivery of T&I instruction.
We offer one full-fledged Master of Arts program in Spanish Translation and Interpreting, as well as five different 5-course certificates in specific areas of specialization, such as Spanish Translation (general certificate), Court Interpreting, Healthcare Interpreting, Literary Translation, and Localization and Audiovisual Translation.

COURSES
We offer over 20 different courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels, all of them dealing with specific areas in the discipline. Most courses are cross-listed in TRSP (Translation) and SPAN (Spanish). In general, students can expect that every course is at least taught once annually in order to facilitate timely graduation (for full-time students: 4 years - undergraduate, 2 years - graduate).
