The Office of Academic Advising and Academic Support

The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) School of Medicine offers students with an integrated, effective academic advising environment. Our team includes SOM faculty members, course and clerkship directors, and student affairs staff along with counseling and tutorial services to ensure medical students move forward in their degree path and can get academic counseling from academic advisors who have no role in making assessment or promotion decisions about them. We focus on providing medical students with professional guidance and educational resources to enhance their academic and professional experience.

Open Door Policy:

Dr. Azeke, academic advisors and the learning specialist have no role in evaluation and promotion. They have an open-door policy and look forward to assisting you with academic advising needs.
