Division of Governmental & Community Relations

who we are

The Division of Governmental & Community Relations (DGCR) is comprised of an exceptional team focused on the engagement of The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) in the community. We strive to transform lives through engaged partnerships. As the branch of the University that cultivates relationships with our governmental and community partners, we work to involve UTRGV in every possible aspect of community engagement. From our award-winning and nationally-recognized community programs, to the coordination of public performing arts events, to strengthening relationships with local government officials, state legislators and members of congress, to our community-targeted workshops and the assessment of our institutional impact on the region, our Division encompasses a vast range of operations.
