B3 Scholar Seal

Purpose

The B3 Scholar Seal serves to develop undergraduate students’ bilingualism in Spanish and English through relevant coursework and formally acknowledges these skills through a certificate program.

Learn about the many benefits of being a B3 Scholar.


Requirements

In order to obtain the B3 Scholar Seal, undergraduate students must successfully complete 5 distinct classes, including:

  • at least 3 Spanish (E) or Bilingual (X) designated courses
  • at least 1 course designated as CSP

In other words, students must complete 3 Spanish/bilingual designated courses and 2 CSP designated courses OR 4 Spanish/bilingual designated courses and 1 CSP designated course.


Students must complete 5 different courses. The same course will not count for multiple categories.

Intent to Pursue B3 Scholar Seal

To assist you in obtaining the B3 Scholar Seal, please complete the short Intent to Pursue B3 Scholar Seal form.

Recognition

Students who have successfully completed the above criteria will be eligible to participate in a B3 Scholar Ceremony held every semester before graduation, during which they will receive a B3 Scholar pin.

Additionally, the B3 Scholar Seal will be listed among students' honors at graduation. Upon verification of successful completion of requirements and degree completion, the B3 Scholar Seal will be listed on the students' transcripts, and students will receive a separate B3 Scholar certificate.
