Vision
The Office for Bilingual Integration leads UTRGV to be the premier bilingual Hispanic-serving Research Institution (HSRI) in the United States, setting the standard for a B3 HSRI Framework.
Mission
To accelerate the expansion of UTRGV as a Spanish-English bilingual Hispanic-serving Institution reflective of the surrounding community.
Purpose
The UTRGV Office for Bilingual Integration aims to enhance the university's bilingual* (B3) framework to strengthen the connection between community, university, and professional careers.
Main Goals
- Build on the human, linguistic, social, community, and economic assets of the Río Grande Valley and Texas to integrate B3 into the university’s core values of excellence, inquiry, discovery, and creativity.
- Lead in community engaged teaching, learning, research, and service to honor and sustain the linguistic and regional experiences while transforming the future.
- Actively offer varios courses that support the development of undergraduate students' bilingualism through relevant coursework.
