Call for Submissions

UTRGV School of Medicine is pleased to announce this call for submissions for abstracts and plenary sessions for our annual Health Disparities Research Symposium.

Our symposium is an opportunity to highlight research/programs that aim to promote health by addressing the differences in the presence of disease, health outcomes and quality of and/or access to health care across all population groups (e.g. race/ethnicity, social class, gender, health status, language spoken). This year, the conference theme is, “Community Engagement” and we aim to showcase research/programs that emphasize the power of partnerships and the value of community engagement in effectively disseminating knowledge that advances a discipline and strengthens communities.

Participants do not have to be affiliated with the UTRGV School of Medicine. Anyone with an interest in presenting their research/program, networking and expanding their scientific and professional knowledge in promoting health equity are encouraged to participate. We welcome submissions from all disciplines and levels including, students, faculty, government agencies, community organizations, health care and research institutions.

Abstracts may be research-, clinical- or program-focused. Abstracts must be submitted electronically and should not include tables, figures, or references. Abstracts exceeding word limits will not be considered.
