STUDENT RESEARCH VIRTUAL POSTER CONTEST 2021 SCHOOL OF REHABILITATION SERVICE & COUNSELING
The purpose of the SRSC Annual Student Research Poster Contest is to promote and recognize student research at all levels and to help students develop their skills in creating academic posters. Any research design including conceptual (with no data collection), qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods will be considered. Group submissions are acceptable. This competition is for students majoring in Rehabilitation.
Competition Categories
- Undergraduate student posters
- Master’s student posters
- Doctoral student posters
Poster Contents
- 4’ x 3’ poster submitted in either .pdf or .ppt format. Free templates for developing a poster are available online at sites such as http://www.makesigns.com.
- Three (3) minute maximum recorded presentation of the poster (may utilize Zoom to record).
- Recorded presentation of the poster will be accompanied by a PowerPoint
- No more than four (4) slides, not including title page
- Include full name(s) and abbreviated title of poster on all slides
- Email poster files and the following information to: Dr. Kim Nguyen-Finn (kim.finn01@utrgv.edu).

- Lead student if a group submission
- Which level of competition (BS, MS, PhD)

- Participate in an asynchronous discussion with conference attendees via the comments section on the SRSC Facebook post of your poster.
- Posters will be posted online one week prior to the SRSC Annual Rehabilitation Conference.
- Participation will continue for the duration of the conference, but judging will conclude on 08/04/2021, the second day of the conference
Awards
A panel of faculty will judge the posters. Gift cards will be provided to the winning posters (if group poster, the lead student will be awarded on behalf of the group). Posters will be evaluated on the quality of poster, videotaped presentation, and interaction with attendees.
PRIZES PER LEVEL:
1st - $100
2nd - $50
3rd - $25
Award winners will be announced at the SRSC Annual Conference on August 5, 2021 at 12:00PM.
Prizes will be awarded in the form of a gift card to the University Bookstore.
