Forms and Deadlines

Deadlines for Applications 

For deadlines, please check the website of the Graduate College.  

Class registration begins well in advance of each term. 

For Spring admission, the optimal application period ends October 1st. 

For Summer and Fall admission, the optimal application period ends March 1st.

Be sure to make all thesis defense arrangements with your thesis chair, committee, and the coordinator at least one semester in advance of your graduation date. 

TA Application Form

All positions for Graduate Teaching Assistantships appear on the UTRGV careers page under “Graduate Assistantships” https://careers.utrgv.edu/ Positions generally open in late July and November for the following semester. Full-time (9.0 credit hours or above) graduate students may apply for assistantships with the history department or with other programs. You may contact the coordinator, Dr. Starling (jamie.starling@utrgv.edu) for further information. All application materials are submitted through the careers website link.
