Application Guidelines
The application consists of
- a letter of interest that explains why the student is interested in the UTRGV GSP and reasons for applying
- a letter of recommendation from a faculty member that speaks to the student's intellectual curiosity, academic readiness and interests, fit for the program etc.
- a resume
- an unofficial transcript
The application packet can be developed in English or Spanish. The letter of interest can be submitted in writing or in video format.
Applications Open: October 1st, 2026
Applications Close: October 31st, 2026
The Gulf Scholars Program leadership team will be hosting information sessions Wednesday, October 07, 2026 at 3PM in Edinburg and Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at 4PM in Brownsville.
