As we continue our 10th Anniversary celebration, we are pleased to unveil our new UTRGV regalia designs.

Moving forward, the new UTRGV regalia design will consist of the following:

Regalia Design

Bachelor’s degree will now feature the embroidered UTRGV seal and orange trim on the sleeves. The bachelor’s tassel color is by college/school.
Master’s degree will consist of a black gown that will have the embroidered UTRGV seal, orange trim, orange piping, and elongated sleeves. The master's hood will incorporate the university colors (orange and white chevron) and the color traditionally associated with the graduate’s specific field of study on the velvet. The master’s tassel color is black.
Doctoral degree will now feature a gray gown accented with orange sleeve chevrons and front panels. The university seal will be embroidered on the front panels. The regalia will include an 8-sided black tam with an attached gold silk tassel. The doctoral hood will incorporate the university colors (orange and white chevron) and the color traditionally associated with the graduate’s specific field of study on the velvet. Custom rental items must be returned the week following Commencement. A pre-paid return shipping label will be included with online home-ship orders.

While we encourage students to wear our newly-designed regalia, use of traditional black regalia from prior semesters is permitted.

In addition, the Fall 2025-Spring 2026 Commencement memory stole will have an exclusive 10^th Anniversary design. The purchase of the memory stole is optional.
