CoBiVa Spark Pages

As a part of the Engaged Scholar & Artist Award entitled "Digital Resources for the Public: Virtual Community Engagement and its Impact," Ms. Madeline Hernández created two different Adobe Spark pages about the CoBiVa. The Spark pages are explain the project to community members and those outside of the field of sociolinguistics.

An Adobe Spark is a presentation platform that can be viewed by scrolling down the page. This platform was chosen as it was an ideal way to present the information we had without the need for a person to present it. Community members could glance through the Spark with a large amount of visually appealing images. The images were provided by Mr. José Jiménez who is also working on this project as well as a video highlighting the CoBiVa.

Ms. Hernández created two Spark pages:

  1. CoBiVa Spark- The first Spark is an overview of the CoBiVa project. It includes descriptions of our goals, sociolinguistic interviews, our research team, and code-switching. The descriptions are kept short but still maintain important information to best help the reader understand the concepts.

  2. Mehods Spark- The second Spark is our research methods in greater detail. We did not want to include them in the same Spark due to the high possibility of the Spark becoming too long and uninteresting to the reader. Our methods Spark includes greater detail on; a sociolinguistic interview, our interview process, post interview procedure, and our transcription methods.

Congrats to Maddie and Freddy, and thank you both for your work on this!
