SIGMA DELTA PI, the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society for four-year colleges and universities, is the oldest and most prestigious honor society for Spanish majors and minors in the nation. The Alpha Alpha lota Advisors are Dr. Laura Garza and Ms. Ana Pena.

El propósito de SAMS será concienciar a la comunidad sobre los muchos obstáculos que enfrentan los hispanos en el cuidado de la salud. Se cubrirán obstáculos como las barreras del idioma, las diferencias culturales, los antecedentes educativos y muchos otros temas. Tenemos la intención de hacerlo a través de actividades dentro de nuestra universidad y comunidad relacionadas con nuestra herencia hispana y la atención médica.

The purpose of SAMS will be to make the community aware of the many obstacles Hispanics face in healthcare. Obstacles such as language barriers, cultural differences, educational backgrounds, and many other issues will be covered. We intend to do so through activities within our university and community related to our Hispanic heritage and healthcare. To join, please contact us through VLink.
