Intermediate Excel Course


This comprehensive 6-hour training session is designed to enhance your Excel skills and make data more usable for better decision-making. With a focus on practical application, you will learn by doing, using data from different tables and worksheets, preparing data for reports with Excel’s powerful tools, and protecting your worksheets with validation and permissions.

Throughout the course, you’ll have time to practice these skills with guidance from an experienced instructor. By the end of this training, you will have developed the expertise necessary to create transformed datasets, develop informative dashboards, and perform critical analyses.


Details:



  • Calculating with advanced formulas (Concatenate, Left, Right)
  • Creating and Enhancing Pivot tables (Slicers)
  • Customizing and enhancing workbooks (Conditional formatting)
  • Working with data from different tables and spreadsheets (VLookup, Match)
  • Data Validation (Restrictions of cells)
  • Data Analysis tools (SumIf, CountIf)

This course is designed for learners with a basic understanding of Microsoft Excel that want to develop meaningful worksheets for decision making at their organizations. This is especially suited for owners, managers, and professionals taking on data analysis roles in their organization.


Note: PEWD program participants should be 18 years or older.

This program requires knowledge of Basic Excel, including:

  • How to create a basic worksheet
  • Performing basic calculations in an Excel worksheet
  • Modifying and formatting an Excel worksheet
  • Inserting graphic objects, and customizing and enhancing workbooks
  • Preparing a worksheet for printing and sharing

Dr. Eduardo Millet

Dr. Eduardo Millet is an Assistant Professor of Management at the State University of New York (SUNY). He specializes in Strategy, New Venture Creation, Social Entrepreneurship, and Innovation. He joined SUNY in 2020 after obtaining a PhD in Business Administration at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. He holds a Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning and a B.A in Economics from the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Millet has a balanced background of industry and academic experience. He worked at the McAllen Chamber of Commerce where he developed an innovative approach to entrepreneurial development. Originally from Mexico, Dr. Millet moved to McAllen from Mexico where he served as the Director of Institutional Development for the State Government of Yucatan for five years, and as Director of Business Intelligence for a nationwide telecommunications company for three years.
