About PEWD

Welcome to the website dedicated to the Office of Professional Education and Workforce Development (PEWD). Established in February 2019, this office leverages institutional and academic resources to create new workforce development opportunities regionally and globally. We create opportunities by providing cutting-edge, responsive, and high-quality education programs aligned with UTRGV's strategic plan and mission.

We believe that targeted and industry-aligned education programs are the key to addressing the ever-widening skills gap in today's workforce. Our ultimate goal is to offer accessible pathways to strategically designed education programs that provide upskilling/reskilling opportunities for professionals. It is also to offer innovative initiatives that provide workforce-specific experiential learning opportunities for UTRGV students.
