Human Resource Management Program
This course enables you to quickly gain practical skills to manage critical HR functions on a daily basis. You'll learn about human resource management functions in a comprehensive overview and understand the stages of the employee life cycle.
As a participant, you will gain insight into employee recruitment and development by learning to conduct interviews and implement performance review processes.
While employing and developing these skills, you will learn to understand the diverse HR challenges and needs of your organization while remaining current with human resource laws and regulations.

• Recruitment: How to find the right applicants and conduct useful and proper interviews.
• Employee Development: Creating job descriptions, developing a performance review process, and evaluating compensation.
• Employee Relations: Employee handbooks, conducting employee investigations, employee conflict resolution, creating a positive work environment, and increasing employee satisfaction.
• Employee Discipline and Separation: Developing corrective action procedures, terminating employment, and staying legal and compliant.
Anyone who is interested in entering an entry-level HR position or seeking formal training in Human Resource Management
Note: PEWD program participants should be 18 years or older.
No prerequisites required.
Dr. Marco Garza
Dr. Garza earned his PhD in Human Resource Development from Texas A&M University. He currently serves as a faculty member of the Management Department at the UTRGV College of Business & Entrepreneurship where he researches and teaches graduate-level courses in Leadership and Human Resources. Additionally, he serves in the UTRGV Office of Human Resources as the Organizational Development Manager. He is the principal owner of the Human Resource Development Institute (HRDI) where he collaboratively supports new HR managers, HR Departments of One, and in-house HR teams. He is also the founder of the Texas Education Institute, a nonprofit organization that provides workforce preparedness training in the HR Generalists and Customer Service Representatives occupations.
